(○) No Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. Hi, I am interested in serving on the transportation board, sustainability board, or the urban parks and forestry board. I have lived in Bozeman for twenty years, and I know this city and this community well. I think my background as a largely car-free commuter may offer a valuable perspective to any of these boards. Over the past twenty years, I have worked in restaurants on Main Street, as an instructor at MSU, and then as a teacher on South 19th and now as a teacher on Durston. I have never used my personal vehicle to get to any of these jobs, but instead I have relied on bike paths, parks, sidewalks, and the Streamline. I also bike or walk for most errands. I appreciate all that the City of Bozeman and the Parks Department have done to make this safe and possible for me, and I would like to give back by serving on a board. Additionally, I have two children, so I am very interested in ensuring that they can walk and bike safely in town. While I do drive them at times, I am always pleased when I can find a way to safely get them to soccer practice or a friend's house without needing my vehicle. Thanks so much, Shannon Mahoney The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. As a teacher, I am aware of the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion. I work hard as a teacher to impart a sense of social justice and make sure my students understand privilege.
