I am joining so many of my neighbors in speaking out against this new proposal for
the Ives. The ugliness and overcrowding that is happening in the Bozeman
downtown area is destroying a huge part of what makes this town what it is andmakes it desirable. This proposal will simply open up options for more high-endrenters, it takes no responsibility for helping to manage the already difficult parking
issues in the area (and actually will push those parking issues even more onto the
streets of neighboring homes), and they will not provide housing for the residentswho are filling the basic jobs in this community that keeps it functioning. Allowingthis builder and others like it, to buy their way out of various regulations, zoning,
and ordinances is ridiculous and harmful to the community. Bozeman is growing,
what happened to all the talk over the last 20 years about smart growth. Let us not
bow down to any company that comes here with money as it feels like we have. Letus seek to take care of our citizens and allow healthy and honest growth to happen.
It is time to not just ask for community comments, but to actually listen and follow
the requests of the community.
