The Grounds Guys is a locally owned full-service property maintenance and landscape team. We have been in business for 9 years and pride ourselves on our focus on the customer. Our code of values repeated by our team members every morning focuses our team. They also can report any issues easily through notes and pictures. We can give client access to our online portal showing the yearly schedule for each site. - the use of new or very recent equipment, giving our personnel the most efficient, highest quality tools to get the job done. We also have experience with robot mowers which we believe is the future for lawn mowing. It provides consistent mowing services, in a quiet, reliable electric machine improving the environmental impact of our services. - Training – we have already produced a map with all irrigated/weekly mowed turf area’s. This map is used as instructions for team members and to communicate clearly with client on what is the detailed scope of work. If we receive the contract, we would like to review each map with you. - Training - The majority of our services will be done with trained personnel. By living our code of values, we Enjoy Live, in the process.” 3 Professional Uniformed Personnel - We believe our team members need to reflect our brand of professionalism by also dressing as professionals. Respect for themselves leads to respect for our clients. Timely Response Guarantee - We are a large enough company to have a full-time office manager, so your phone calls will be answered. We also will have an account manager assigned to you, so you will have a field knowledgeable person to interact with on services. Safe, Reliable Equipment Maintained Daily - We have daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance plans for our equipment and purchase new or very recent field equipment, so services can be done at high quality levels and on time. Status and Quality Reports Delivery Timely - Our account manager will be doing site inspections, observing the quality of our contracted work and observing the site for additional services that may need to be conducted. We will send this inspection report to or clients to assure clear communication and corrective actions if necessary. In conclusion, our company and team members are well qualified to provide the services requested. Our approach will be for our weekly services team to provide all services except fertilizer and spray which we will have our trained technician apply. Our focus on commercial and HOA maintenance is a good match for the City of Bozeman as each of the services requested is a part of our team members responsibilities today. 4 Maps of Irrigated Weekly Turf (example) Cloud Based Mobile App and tracking 5 Firm Profile The Grounds Guys of Bozeman, Billings, and Helena Montana are 3 distinct units with operations managers and teams for each unit. The Bozeman/Belgrade unit has the following team to support the business - Owner, Bryan Buerkle – Lead account manager, Ag Engineering B.A./M.S. - Operations Manager – Andrew Czarnecki, Golf/Turf management degree 22 years of experience in golf and landscape industry - Maintenance Manager – Brett Franklin, Golf/Turf management degree 4 years of experience in sports/golf turf - 2 Returning Seasonal Crew Leads for landscape weekly services (mow, trim, clean, aerate, overseed, prune) - 1 Returning Seasonal Spray/Fertilizer technician for turf care applications - 2 Returning crew members (mow, trim, clean, prune) - 2 Returning Foreman for landscape installations/construction The above team members are our core group supporting the landscape maintenance business. We will be hiring another experienced crew lead and 3 crew members if we get this contract. No subcontracting is expected for any of our landscape construction or maintenance services. We are focused on a full-service landscape business to truly partner with you on all aspects of your property. Our execution plan would be to run one crew specifically trained for the City of Bozeman for weekly services. This crew would rotate through the parks weekly for 3 to 4 days. This will allow us 2 extra days a week to catch up if weather delays services. Turf health would be performed by our spray/fertilizer technician and would rotate through the properties as needed. Extra work would be evaluated on a case by case bases, but most of it can be done by the weekly crew assigned to the parks. 6 Price Proposal The price proposal utilized the table provided in Appendix C of the RFP. *Estimates above assumes only maintaining irrigated turf areas, native grass areas are additional services *Estimate above assumes new dog station bags and new trash bags every week 7 Additional Services as specified Services Per Hour Rates Additional Comments Mowing $65 Standard 36-54” zero turn mower on irrigated turf Weeding/Trimming $55 Standard handheld gas/electric powered trimmers Dog Station Maintenance $50 Hourly rate, materials are an addition Landscaping $75 Hourly rate, materials and equipment are an addition Clearing, Brushing, Pruning of Vegetation $65 Hourly rate for standard pruning services, landfill/hauling fee are an addition if excessive Maintenance of native grass/naturalized areas $75 Hourly rate for 54” mower or ATV sprayer, if brush mower/tractor is needed or larger sprayer, additional equipment rates will be applied Trail Maintenance $75 Hourly rate for ATV sprayer, if gravel work is requested, equipment/materials are an addition Removal of seasonal debris, leaves, litter $55 Hourly rate for standard bagging mowers, landfill/hauling fee are an addition Overseeding turf areas $65 Hourly rate for overseeding grass in small area’s, additional equipment/materials may apply if larger areas are requested for overseeding Garbage removal $50 Hourly rate, landfill/hauling fee are an addition if excessive materials Aerating & Thatching $110 Standard rate for walk behind core aerator or de- thatching and bagging 8 Related Experience and References The Grounds Guys of Bozeman, Billings, and Helena Montana have ample experience to assure we can meet the scope of work specified in this proposal. We have combined the related experiences and references sections in order to provide references specifically to our larger maintenance accounts. As you can see from our firm profile, we are hiring people truly interested in our industry to manage the staff. Beyond the staff, following are some examples of past and current experiences and contacts. - Copper Spring Ranch – ~48 acres of grass and turf care from 2014-2019. Ranch was sold in spring of 2020 and they decided to not maintain to similar standards. Karen Gilhausen was the owner - Gallatin Heights HOA, Belgrade – ~60 acres of trails and parkways, including 17 acres of irrigated parks fully maintained with mowing, turf care, irrigation, pruning, and aeration. They also have a trail system which we are involved in maintaining as well. We are their full service landscape/irrigation maintenance provider for irrigated and native field areas. The contract is through a 3rd party management facility maintenance firm, Emocor. The larger equipment is as mentioned below - 16 trucks – ¾ ton or larger - 20 trailers, enclosed, tilt, landscape styles - 10 zero turn mowers - 2 commercial walk behind mowers - 3 mini skid steers - 2 mid framed skid steers - 1 ATV for field spray - 2 Toro stand-on spray/fertilizer machines - If we take on this contract, we will likely purchase 2 more zero turn mowers - If the scope of the contract includes field mowing, we will purchase a tractor with field mower 10
