Dear Mr. Knapper, I am writing to you as a concerned Bozeman resident to express my opposition to the proposed zoning of theCanyon Gate development (Project No 21337). While it is understood that the land located on the corner of StoryMill Road and Bridger Drive would eventually be developed, the current proposal is not in the best interests of anyof the nearby residents and surrounding communities nor does it align with the current character of the area. I urge the City to maintain the original intent and natural beauty of the established community, zoning to align withthe current development patterns for the area which would be R-1, R-2, and R-3. The reasons for my opposition are numerous and include, but are not limited to, the wildland-urban interface, habitat corridor, and traffic & safety concerns of the residents. I live in Bridger Creek Phase one and run the trailsevery morning. I see mule deer, turkeys, porcupine, bears, and moose. We need to keep a quiet corridor for thewildlife to access the creek and back into the mountains. As a Bozeman citizen for 25 years, I am very concerned with the rapid growth. Our valley is too small andinfrastructures inadequate to accommodate high density condos for wealthy people’s 2nd homes. Please think for the Gallatin Valley 25 years from now. Let’s not make mistakes like other rapidly growing townsand cities. Bigger isn’t always better. Thank you for your consideration and opposition to the Canyon Gate Development. There are many children thatreside in the neighborhoods and the increased traffic on residential streets will create an unsafe environment.Already, people speed on Boylan. A development of this magnitude will increase the risk for our children residingon Boylan and neighboring streets. Sincerely,Alison Bayr Sent from my iPhone
