Please do not approve the rezoning of the area referred to as Canyon Gate. Prevent urban sprawl and
practice good urban planning practices by keeping the outer edges of town residential and the interior of
town mixed use or commercials. It will take away from the inherit value of the views going into Bridger
Canyon and devalue the properties and general appeal of Bozeman’s small town feel. Furthermore, without
adequate road construction, under/over passes for wildlife and trains, and parks and green space this is
putting costs of road work, wildlife mitigation, traffic mitigation, and police calls for accidents due to
congestion and wildlife on the city and tax payers. It also fails to address the ongoing problem of builders
making new homes suited to second home buyers and pricing out the working class. There are countless
empty “luxury” apartments in town while working class struggle to find apartments within their budget
while working two or three jobs. Please reconsider this rezoning and the negative impacts it will have on
the community of Bozeman. If we don’t start prioritizing the community Bozeman will lose what makes it so
appealing for so many to want to move here.
