1. Will you let me know if you amend the RFP at all?
• If an amendment is made, we will advertise the RFP with the amendment included.
2. David Fine at the City is a Verge board member. Jeff had said it wouldn't be a problem, but we
wanted to double check.
• Page ix: "C. Employment Restriction and Indemnity. No person who is an owner, officer,
employee, contractor, or consultant of a respondent shall be an officer or employee of
the City."
3. Page iv: The RFP describes one part of the goal of the project is to "enable it to become
financially self-supporting." One, when you read that section, "it" could be read to mean the
Story Mansion itself or just the Carriage House. Making sure it's the latter.
• It’s the latter. The goal is for the Story Mansion Carriage House to be self-supporting.
Two, does this simply mean we would cover all Carriage House utilities or does it mean we're
responsible for ongoing maintenance like the roof, etc.?
• The goal is for the Story Mansion Carriage House to be self-supporting, so ongoing
maintenance and capital expenditures would be included in your responsibilities.
4. I would like clarification on the recently released RFP for the Story Mansion Carriage House.
Based on the language in the introduction and throughout the document it appears that the
design and renovation of the Carriage House are only two phases of the project. The third one
being the ongoing operation of the theater, which includes fundraising to secure this effort. Is
this correct?
• That is correct.
If so, it would suggest that we act as a consultant on a team primed by a theater company?
• That is correct.
The criteria in the Proposal Requirements and Scope of Work request experience in the world
of theater, rather than architectural design. Is this a Design-Build process?
• The RFP is for a Community Theater Design, Renovation, and Operation Proposal. This is
not a Design-Build process.
5. Is there any information on a schedule for the scope of work to be performed?
• Please see page V of the RFP under IV SCOPE OF WORK item 3.
6. Can you tell me how big the carriage house is and if there is a budget in mind for renovating
this space?
• Please see page iV in the RFP under I. INTRODUCTION for Story Mansion Carriage House
square footage.
• Please see page V of the RFP under IV SCOPE OF WORK 5. Proposed Budget
7. Are we correct in our understanding that this is not an RFP for response by an architect or
theatre/arts management consultant, but designed for response by a not for profit
organization who would then be responsible for contracting these services in the course of
establishing themselves as theater operator?
• Any interested organization is welcome to respond to the RFP if they are able to meet
the requirements in the RFP.
