Regarding the proposed rezoning at Bridger Drive and Story Mill Road:
As a homeowner in the Legends At Bridger Creek subdivision since 2009, I have been witness to dramatic
housing growth, commercial development, and a public park in the corridor leading to Bridger Canyon.
Despite the density of homes in our area, we have retained some sense of aesthetics with the vestiges of
green space and mountain views that remain. The proposed development would significantly change the
character of this immediate area and exacerbate an already dangerous traffic flow pattern to and from
Bridger Canyon / to and from Story Mill Road. The effects of the Bridger View development on traffic and
congestion remain to be seen.
The entire Bozeman community values the recreational value of the "M", Drinking Horse, Bridger Creek and
the East Gallatin, Story Mill Community Park, walking trails, and the beautiful transition from Main Street to
Mountains. Without some sensitivity to the character and density of permitted buildings, we will lose the
traits that make this area so special.
I would hope that serious consideration be given to maintaining the R-1 and R-2 zoning consistent with the
immediate adjoining area.
