Instead of just reducing parking requirements, how about a reduction in parking landscaping and
pedestrian access requirements. The requirement of sidewalk access to each space is expensive and greatly
reduces the space left for parking. The parking lot landscaping requirements removes at least 10% of the
possible parking spaces. These minor changes can add up to 25% more parking spaces to sites without
pushing a parking shortage problem onto neighboring lots.
