This is a public comment regarding the proposed Canyon Gate development off StoryMill and Bridger Drive
by Home Base Partners. High density housing and commercial businesses have no place in this residential
neighborhood. This development is about making money with complete disregard for the surrounding area.
Two of the missions as outlined by City of Bozeman planning department are to “promote public health and
safety and to create a functional community that is beautiful, healthful and efficient “. This proposed
development fails on so many levels such as, the lack of roadway infrastructure, the disruption of the
natural beauty of the area, the sheer density of humans in a small area, the apparent lack of open space
and the possibility of high rise development. This is not what Bozeman is about. There are other places to
build commercial and high density housing it does not belong in the middle of a residential area. There are
single family residences on 3 sides of this proposed development. Animals are often seen in this proposed
area of development deer, moose and bald eagles. Let’s leave this residential neighborhood alone. It is a
beautiful area let’s not spoil it with runaway development.
