HOME OF MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY GATEWAY TO YELLOWSTONE PARK MAY /?,96 MUNICIPAL WATER SUPPLY Water Rights and Storage Contracts The ideal and reliable stream rights which comprise the source of the municipal water supply are indicated on the attached figures. Figures 1 through 4 represent the ideal rights of the various sources. Figure 5 is a composite drawing of Figures 1-4. The total annual ideal yield of water and storage rights is 13, 370 acre-feet, or 4. 36 billion gallons of water. As stated previously, the ideal value of the rights is not realized on a continual basis. Stream flows vary seasonally, resulting in inadequate amounts for appropriation. Figures 6 through 9 represent the estimates of the Engineering office for the reliable yield of the water rights. Considering conservation, the reliable yield of the rights is utilized for analysis and projection purposes. Figure 10 represents a composite drawing of the reliable yield of water and storage rights. The total annual reliable yield is 9, 010 acre-feet, or 2. 94 billion gallons of water. Q Q h ro N W v N h Q - - A z 0 . a a o z `D E a LL o 0 0 o Q N N,\, W o 14) a 4 0 S/ 1d35' O/ LSnny / 1Snny F[Bi 698r 9981 ` Q F[8/ 698/ S, O/ Y/V r Z E48/ 699r 9sai - O S2 mod/✓ E Q „J LL.
