I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed zoning associated with the annex application
of the Canyon Gate development (Project No 21337), located the at the corner of Story Mill and Bridger
Drive. Nearly all residents in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods are completely opposed to the
addition of high density, multi-family housing in this location. This parcel should be zoned as continuous
and congruent with immediately adjacent neighborhoods (R-1, R-2, R-S).
The R-5 and R-3, and B2-M zoning would be detrimental to the limited Bridger canyon area, and will cause
traffic and safety problems, and create even more problems with schools that are already over-capacity,
destroy local wildlife habitat, and potentially lower the property values of the existing community. In
addition to the fact that this is classic Spot Zoning, an illegal practice, this development is not in same
character with the family and neighborhood feel.
I am fine with annex and development of this parcel, but urge the City to impose on the developer that it
be zoned as the same as neighboring city lands!
