I have some comments concerning affordable housing in the Bozeman area . Before my wife and I moved to
Bozeman we lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota and I was involved with Neighborhood Works which
specializes in affordable housing, and you are probably aware of it's mission . Neighborhood Works of the
Black Hills set up a separate non-profit to acquire land for housing and built affordable homes to sell to
qualified buyers . The price of the home was more affordable because of inexpensive but quality built
homes but also the land was not sold with the house but stayed with the non-profit . Prices were fixed at a
containable rate if the house was resold to stop greed . I also have contacted HRDC and the Neighborhood
Works of Montana about this . Funds come from Federal , state , county , city , business and private
donations . You may have already looked into this but this is a program that has worked very well in other
