HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3319 In memoriam of Alfred M Stiff u. _._. COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3319 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, IN MEMORIAM TO ALFRED M. STIFF, AND TO EXTEND CONDOLENCES AND SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WHEREAS, Alfred M. Stiff, former City Commissioner and former Mayor of the City of Bozeman, Montana, died on Thursday, September 16, 1999; and WHEREAS, Mr. Stiff has maintained permanent residence in Bozeman for his entire life and has been an outstanding citizen of the community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Stiff served the City government of Bozeman with unusual dedication and distinction, being elected to the City Commission for four terms commencing in January 1980 and ending in July 1999; and serving as Mayor of Bozeman from January 1982 through December 1983, January 1988 through December 1989, and January 1998 through July 1999; and WHEREAS, Alfred M. Stiff, provided exemplary and dedicated service to the citizens of Bozeman; and WHEREAS, Mr. Stiff was affiliated with a myriad of civic organizations, as demonstrated by his participation in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The White House Conference on the Handicapped, Rotary Club, SCORE, and Quest for Knowledge. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, herewith extends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Alfred Mack Stiff, in this, their hour of bereavement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Commission is herewith instructed to ......'" convey this measure to Mr. Stiff's family and to officially record this resolution in the minutes of the regular meeting of the City Commission on the 20th day of September 1999.
