COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3827
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO REVISE THE BOZEMAN 2020 COMMUNITY PLAN
BY EXTENDING THE PLANNING BOUNDARY TO INCLUDE THE ENTIRETY OF A
319-ACRE PARCEL, AND BY AMENDING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION, AS SHOWN
ON THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP, TO "SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL" FOR THE
ENTIRE PARCEL, WHICH IS LOCATED GENERALLY EAST OF THE CITY'S
SANITARY LANDFILL ON STORY MILL ROAD, GALLATIN COUNTY, MONTANA.
WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Growth Policy Amendment to
amend the Bozeman 2020 Community Plan for 319 acres lying generally east of the City's sanitary landfill
off of Story Mill Road; and
WHEREAS, the application for a Growth Policy Amendmentwould extend the planning boundary
to include the entirety of the 319~acre subject property, and amend the land use designation, as shown
on the Future Land Use Map, to "Suburban Residential" for the entire subject property; and
WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set forth for review
of Growth Policy Amendments contained in the Bozeman 2020 Community Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an application
for said amendment at its regular meeting held on July 19, 2005, taking into careful consideration the
criteria set forth for review of Growth Policy Amendment applications; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board found that the application complies with the
approval criteria established in Section 2.4.1 of the Bozeman 2020 Community Plan, and that the
proposed amendment does constitute an overall improvement to the Plan; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City of Bozeman Planning Board voted, on a
vote of 5 to 1, to forward a recommendation for approval of the requested expansion of the planning
boundary and change in land use designation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is scheduled to conduct its public hearing on said amendment
at its regular meeting held on August 1 , 2005, to consider the applicant's request to amend the Bozeman
2020 Community Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that it intends to revise the growth policy to extend the planning boundary to include the entirety
of the 319-acre subject property, and to amend the land use designation, as shown on the Future Land
Use Map, to "Suburban Residential" for the entire subject property described as the south half of Section
29, less one acre, T2S, R6E, P.M.M. which is located generally east of the City's sanitary landfill off of
Story Mill Road, in the Bozeman 2020 Community Plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of t City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular
session thereof held on the 1 st of August 2005.
