The site is a single-story, Craftsman-style bungalow at 121 N Tracy. This house and a nearly identical bungalow next door (119 N Tracy) share a central paved driveway and two-stall garage. This house is a rectangular-plan, single-story, wood-framed, residence
constructed in 1915. The façade faces east onto N Tracy and features a nested gable, half-width front porch and a shed-roofed rear addition. The residence is clad in horizontal wood siding and is topped with a front-gabled roof. The roof is clad in asphalt shingles. the eaves are open, exposing rafter ends. The gable ends are supported by triangular wood brackets. A brick chimney extends through the eaves on the south elevation. The primary entrance is off-set to the north and sheltered by a nested front-gabled porch supported by square wood columns. The
entrance is accessed by wood steps. To the south of the entrance is a set of three, one-over-one lite hung windows with wood surround. The residence features additional one-over-one lite windows, shoulder-height fixed windows, and a boxed bay window with a set of three, one-over-one lite sash windows with wood surrounds. There are two-lite awning windows set in the basement level with storm screens fixed to the exterior.
The rear (west) elevation supports a small shed roofed addition with fixed, single-lite picture windows and a wood deck.
The residence was surveyed in 1984 by McDonald Architects. Overall, the site is in excellent condition. In 1984, the property was found to be, "a contributing element within a potential historic district due to its association with the residential aspect of the Progressive Phase of Bozeman's historic/architectural development." The rear addition, addition of wood deck, and replacement of
some original windows affects the integrity of materials and design to some degree. Metcalf finds the site continues to retain sufficient integrity to convey historic character.

History of Property
Property Name: 121 N Tracy Ave. Site Number: 281
HISTORY OF PROPERTY
The property currently addressed as 121 North Tracy Avenue is located in Tracy’s 2nd Addition that was platted on May 16, 1883. Martin V. and Annis Huffman purchased this property from Pauline Vogel and P. J. Moliter on August 31, 1918. Martin V. Huffman
had been born in Bowling Green, KY. He crossed the plains with his brother, George Huffman, in 1864, arriving in Bannack and then going to Alder Gulch. They continued on to Helena, where they lived for about a year. George came to Bozeman, while Martin returned to Kentucky. Martin married Annis Croly in Nevada, MO on June 20, 1866, and they came to Bozeman in 1879 to establish their permanent residence (The Billings Gazette, 31 July 1923). They purchased this property in 1918 and had this residence built in 1919. Martin and Annis lived at 304 North Tracy Avenue while owning this property. Annis Huffman sold the property to Josephine Walker and Martin Walker on April 5, 1924. Josephine Walker and Martin Walker were grandchildren of Martin and Annis Huffman
and they managed the estate of Martin and Annis Huffman. On July 31, 1933 the Estate of Martin V. Huffman (Josephine Walker and Martin Walker, trustees) sold the property to Dan Kilbride.
Daniel and Josephine Kilbride lived in this residence from c. 1933 until her death in 1969 and his death on November 26, 1980 (R. L. Polk & Co. 1933-1980). Daniel Felix Kilbride had been born on August 14, 1905 in East Helena, MT to Daniel M. and Ellen J.
Kilbride. He married Josepine Walker in 1924. Josephine had been born on March 4, 1905 to James Walker and Mary "Ellen" Huffman. Josephine was the granddaughter of Martin and Annis Huffman. Daniel and Josephine owned and operated a Texaco gas station while living in this residence. Daniel later worked as a real estate broker. He owned and operated Bozeman’s Stockman Bar until his retirement in 1968. Josephine died on December 14, 1969 (Findagrave.com, 2020).
The Dan Kilbride trust sold the property to Lamtrac LLC on October 13, 2020. Lamtrac is the current owner as of December 2020.

Statement of Significance
Property Name: 121 N Tracy Ave. Site Number: 281
NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES
NRHP Listing Date:
NRHP Eligibility: Yes No Individually Contributing to Historic District Noncontributing to Historic District
NRHP Criteria: A B C D
Area of Significance: Period of Significance: STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE The property at 121 N Tracy was previously recorded by McDonald Architects in 1984. The site consists of one historical architectural feature: a house built in 1919 in the Craftsman style. The house is a wood-framed, single-story residence with a rectangular-plan and front-gabled roof. Overall, the site is in excellent condition. All aspects of integrity are retained. Metcalf finds the property retains sufficient integrity to convey its historic character. Sect. 38.700 of the Bozeman Municipal Code defines an eligible property as one that meets the criteria for inclusion in the NRHP or State Register either 1) individually or 2) as a contributing building to an existing or potential historic district. This site has been evaluated against the NRHP Criteria and has been determined to lack individual significance under Criterion A, B, C, and D. It is not located within an existing historic district and, due to considerable in-fill and redevelopment of the surrounding residential blocks in the past fifty years, Metcalf does not recommend adjacent properties have district potential. The site is recommended not eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

Integrity
Property Name: 121 N Tracy Ave. Site Number: 281
INTEGRITY (location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling, association) The site is in excellent condition overall. The shed-roofed addition to the west elevation and the addition of a wood deck affects the integrity of design to a degree. The alterations are not visible from the public ROW. The replacement of some original windows affects the integrity of materials. Changes to the surrounding neighborhood including infill, redevelopment, and the demolition of
contemporaneous structures in the vicinity affects integrity of setting. All other aspects of integrity - location, workmanship, feeling, and association are retained.
