FHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,

This two-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with - projections
including a projected front entrance with rusticated flanking pilasters and
an oak paneled door with leaded stained glass panes. Above the entrance is
a flush balcony with a paneled french door and decorative iron railing.
Windows are casement with louvered shutters and curved segmental brick arches
over the lintels. The brick construction is built in a running bond pattern
(American bond) and sits on a concrete foundation. The hipped roof is
covered with cedar shingles and features dormers and a large brick chimney
with two decorative spiral ceramic flues. The attached garage has been `
remodeled into bedrooms. I

This property is significant because this residence is associated with a
person important in Bozeman history, Fred F. Willson. Son of General Lester
Willson, an early Bozeman resident, Willson was born in 1877 in Bozeman.
He attended Columbia University in architecture and studied two years abroad.
He first practiced with C.S. Haire in Helena. In his large Bozeman practice
from 1910-1956, he designed many public commercial and residential buildings.
Willson designed this house for James R. Chambers from Fisher Department
Store.
This structure is potentially eligible for the National Register because
of its historical associations and because of its architectural significance.
INTEGRITY: Assess the degree to which the structure/site,and surrounding area accurately convey the historical associations of the
property.
The historic Integrity of this l� e9 Y property has been retained due to the survival
i of original design and materials and continuity of use, setting and location.

The house is one of three pretentious , Willson-designed
houses that line the south side of Cooper Park . It is also
one of three such houses facing Cooper Park that were built
during the depression .
The house is comparable in design and date of construction
to the Graff House , another Willson-designed house at 504
W . Cleveland St .
