With all the new and expensive housing in Bozeman, the city should be
bringing in a substantial increase in revenue without an additional (above
the normal yearly) tax increase. The city/county already increases my
property taxes each year. This is to bring it up to the unbelievable current
property rates.
As a long time resident and retired person on a fixed income, 9% is a huge
increase. Perhaps newly purchased properties should be on a higher
property tax schedule? retired/disabled given a financial break?
Older residents are being pushed out of Bozeman due to the high cost of
living.
