Hello,
I'm very sorry to you and our community that I have to write this letter. There has been a massive shift in
our local economy over the last year and as a Montana native and Bozeman resident, I feel that we've all
been let down by our representatives in city council. I work in the construction industry locally. I help in the
building of our community, yet with unregulated landlords, rental agencies, and vacation rentals running
this town unchecked, I (and most other locals) cannot financially remain in their homes and hometown. I
am an engineer making an engineering salary and I cannot justify paying the same amount in rent for a two
bedroom apartment that I would have two years ago on a mortgage for a 5 bedroom home. If I can't do
that, how do you expect someone making minimum wage to even afford basic food and shelter? I'm not
saying keep people out, I'm begging for you to please help the people who love and built this town from
homelessness and poverty. I'm saying, please put people before profits. Bozeman is hurting, we need your
help!
