I am expressing a concern about the growing number of campers on park property at Bozeman Pond. As of
yesterday there were six (6) tents with occupants located in on the northeast corner of the pond. Some of
these tents with occupants have been there since April 2021. I believe this goes against Bozeman City
Ordinances and would like to understand why this is being permitted? It is a public health concern as there
are no toilet facilities in this area and the tents are within 100 yards of the pond. It also is intimidating to
Bozeman City residents that are trying to use the paths around the park for the intended purpose.
Perhaps my understanding of City rules with regards to this issue are in error. If so lease provide
understanding of acceptance of this public health concern. If it is in violation of Bozeman City rules, please
provide feedback and timeline on plans to correct this issue.
