SUBJECT:Citizen Advisory Board Consolidation
MEETING DATE:August 4, 2021
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:As suggested by the Board.
STRATEGIC PLAN:1.2 Community Engagement: Broaden and deepen engagement of the
community in city government, innovating methods for inviting input from
the community and stakeholders.
BACKGROUND:At its June 22, 2021 meeting the City Commission held a work session on
board consolidation. The commission indicated support for the proposed
consolidation plan and instructed the City Manager to continue working
toward the consolidation. City staff is working on draft documents related
to the new board structure.
Two items are currently listed on the City Commission agenda for August 10,
2021: Ordinance 2085 Provisional Adoption of Board Consolidation and
accompanying resolutions and Resolution 5323 Establishing a High
Performing Boards Model.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None
ALTERNATIVES:As suggested by the Board.
FISCAL EFFECTS:Unknown.

SUBJECT:Updates from Staff
MEETING DATE:August 4, 2021
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:None
STRATEGIC PLAN:4.5 Housing and Transportation Choices: Vigorously encourage, through a
wide variety of actions, the development of sustainable and lasting housing
options for underserved individuals and families and improve mobility
options that accommodate all travel modes.
BACKGROUND:General Updates from staff: ongoing and upcoming construction projects,
maintenance updates.
Transportation Demand Management Coordinator position has been filled.
They start August 16th.
Crossing Improvements at Willson and Garfield. Staff is working on a
meeting with Northwestern Energy to discuss power. This will allow a more
clear budget to be developed for the installation of an RRFB. Staff is also
investigating the potential for street lights at the intersection.
