To Bozeman City Commissioners,
The old growth forests will never recuperate from logging, especially when that wood getssold to developers who build expansive second homes for foreign nationals. The roads that
logging creates become driveways for elitists who want to own our rightful public lands. Thenoise pollution of logging and increased motor tráffic are detrimental to everyone, especially
birds. What will happen when the people flooding into montana use up the last of the clean airand clean water because they wanted a wood flooring in their brand new house? Kirk hill is a
sanctuary that is priceless. The wood from the trees becomes liquidated into monetary assetsbut itwill never equate to the value of the forest, intact and left alone to fulfill its natural cycle.
The excuse that some use when pushing for controlled burning and extraction of lumber is thatit will protect our water sources, but this is yet another lie used to profit from natural resources
that belong to the public and that are not renewable at all. The forest will never come backonce consumed. This is desertification. Use science to make educated decisions and stop
complying with the capitalistic virus. Thank you, monica gray
