Hello,
Please find this correspondence as my support/approval for the Whole Foods Market plan at the Gallatin
Valley Mall.
We are extremely lucky to have an opportunity to revitalize this part of town (GV Mall) which is already
established as a retail center, complete with an abundance of existing parking and more importantly,
conveniently accessible to many Streamline Bus routes. Not to mention, this site is also easily accessed off
of one of Bozeman’s largest thoroughfares, West Main Street - which boasts 4-5 driving lanes and many
dedicated turning lanes and dedicated traffic signals.
While I understand the concern that local residents have for the over-development of Bozeman, a decision
to approve this Whole Foods Market development is more about seizing the opportunity to empower
Bozeman to grow wisely and equitably. This site has been used before and in the spirit of
environmental/land use impacts, the GV Mall site is under-utilized.
This redevelopment project is smart growth and I sincerely hope you stand by your original first
impressions and decisions.
