The locationof the Whole Foods project is located on the groundsof Gallatin Valley Mali. Stormwater is drained throughthe parking lot and and ends up flowing down to acatch ditch located at Virginia Way and west Babcockstreet. As far as I know there is no undergroundstormwater detention facility anywhere near the Mali sowhy is there a problem concerning stormwater. Could itbe that the city Commission is trying to make WholeFoods pay for something that is not necessary. Theydid this kind of shenanigan with Kohl's departmentstore requiring them to pay for a stop light that was nowhere near their store so they could get their certificateof occupancy. Kohls' won that law suit. They alsorequired Hobby Lobby to repave the parking that theirstore is located in before they could get a certificate ofoccupancy. Hobby Lobby did not repave the parkinglot and won that law suit also. The traffic impact studydoesn't make any sense either. The Whole Foodproject is on highway 191, a state thorough fare all theway through Bozeman. Also, there is already a Trafficlight at College and 1 91 (main street) within approximately 100 feet from the store location. So isthere a problem with traffic or is the Commission tryingto do the same thing they did against Kohl's? I wouldhave submitted this to the city but they ignore thecitizens of Bozeman if our concerns don't meet theirpolicies.Matt Me Ken nanBozemanBozeman Daily Chronicle2820 West CollegeBozeman, MT 59718406-587-4491Copyright © 2021 Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
