Dear Bozeman City Commission, First, I need to thank you for all your hard work and many hours you put in for the good of our community. I mean that sincerely. I serve on the City Planning Board and I have just a small idea of what your service means to this community. I need to say, however, that my comments here are NOT on behalf of the Planning Board. My comments are, however, a reflection of the fact that ever since the Bridger Meadows subdivisioncame in front of the Planning Board, I have not been able to get it off my mind. I struggled duringthat meeting with approving this project and it is one of very few decisions I have made as part ofthat board that I now regret. I have visited this site several times now and have a hard time with the access issues for the residents that will live in these new houses, for the current residents who will be impacted by the new access route, and for the emergency access road (which is really a parking lot). I believe this is reason alone to deny this project. I believe in promoting infill development but there are some places where the “community good”requires us to look beyond just the goal of densifying our community. To remain “the most livableplace” we will need some close-by places of refuge where people can decompress from the stressesof urban life and as we continue to urbanize, those places will become even more important. This isone of those places. I think squeezing in 16 homes here will forever change this special place. If I thought we would be contributing to our affordable housing stock with these 16 homes, I might think about this differently, but I am sure that will not be the case with these homes. They will be expensive. I could go on about impacting wetlands, etc. but in the interest of time, I will end here. I know this isa last-minute public comment. Thanks for your consideration on what I know will be a very difficultdecision. Sincerely, Cathy Costakis 140 Village Crossing Way, Unit 2A Bozeman, MT, 59715
