Hi Commissioners, we are on the cusp of being forced to listen to roughly 4 hours of loud rock music in a
residential neighborhood. I live in a small apartment 2 blocks up from the Emerson Lawn. It seems really
out of bounds that a major concert was planned without notice given to the neighborhood. This town's
growth has exploded. The amount of noise, traffic and sirens exploded along with it. A rock concert in a
residential area only adds to the stressful changes that have happened to Bozeman. I am a music fan, but
just like you, being *forced* to listen to someone else's music- not being able to get away from that noise
for hours is a huge quality of life issue. This makes me really angry with the City and with the lack of
consideration of the residents who must tolerate the noise, and people who will no doubt be drunk and
loud during and after the concert. I hope you will consider the broader permitting process in the future.
Lunch on the Lawn at noon is one thing, a major rock concert on a Sunday night is quite another. I still have
to work for a living. In fact, I have two jobs which is not uncommon for those of us who do not have
dividend checks arriving on the regular. There are fewer and fewer of us left here. That's another letter for
another day, though.
