Section 24 – Signage Plan Outline
Bridger Meadows Neighborhood Development
PUD Preliminary Plan Application
Subdivision Preliminary Plat Application
Subdivision Signage
The signage in Bridger Meadows Subdivision is an integral part of the project’s image and is still in
development. Concept signage is included below to identify character and intent. Each element will be
carefully designed, proportioned, and placed with respect to the Developments architectural approach,
the surrounding community aesthetic, and the City of Bozeman as a whole. All signage, with the
exception of the home address markers, will be designed and installed by the Bridger Meadows
Developer. The Signage will help enhance the character of the community, by being informative and
appealing to residents and visitors alike.
Entry Monument Sign
Bridger Meadows Subdivision will include an entry sign to
identify the development as “Bridger Meadows”. The sign is
to be located in the open space north the Southeast edge of
the property whereof Shady Glen Lane where it enters the
property from the Links. The sign will be free-standing,
internally illuminated through solar power, and integrated
with a landscaped planter. The shape, size, and color of the
sign will complement the surrounding environment and the Bridger Meadows Design Standards.
Typical and Secondary Signage
Typical trail marking and street signs such as the City/GVLT standard trail head and pet waste/leash
requirements signage will be posted in the community areas and at trails. Sign placement will include
trail entries, street fronts, emergency access, and the community/play areas. To reduce visual clutter
and communicate development information such as enhancing the preservation of the federally
protected wetlands, signs will be limited to necessary areas to inform residents and visitors. Wayfinding
Directional signage will be located to demarcate trail entries and the community/play areas. Signs
denoting the boarder of the wetland and wildlife refuge will also be provided to mark the boundary of
the wildlife refuge area boundary. Signs will be similar in design to signage utilized and prevalent
elsewhere in the city to promote familiarity and consistency. Typical examples are represented below:

Lot Address Signage
Address markers are to be installed on the main entry
façade of each residence. Numbers shall be in a block
print, a color in contrast to the background, and located
near the entry where clearly visible from the street.
The proposed development signage is typical for an R-1 residential area and will serve to inform
pedestrians and community occupants of wayfinding and the neighborhood standards while
continuously protecting the active riparian areas, wetlands and wildlife habitats. They have been
created to establish the language and design criteria for the built environment and are based on a
commitment to establish a strong “sense of place” for the Bridger Meadows community.
Interpretive Signage
The project developer proposes to include interpretive/educational signage at two locations in
the project. The signs will include educational and informative information on the federally
protected wetlands and wildlife refuge. They will outline a brief background on the area and
provide identification for the typical wildlife one might expect to see residing in the area. Signs
will be mounted at the community/play area in the southeast corner of the development and
near at the end of the trail intersection located within common open area 02 at the sidewalk
near lot 7. Signage is still in development but is expected to be similar to the examples noted
below and no larger than 24” by 36” in size. Examples of signage are still in design.
