Dear Commission,
I would like to know what your plan is for getting the Bozeman swim facilities open 7 days a week to
serve the Bozeman city residents. It’s beyond comprehension that you would have our public swim
facilities closed on the weekends during the summer. Everyone use to make slight of “banking
hours”, the Bozeman public swim center and Bogert pool makes banking hours look generous. It is a
huge waste of resources to have these muti million dollar facilities sitting idle.
I know you had a hard time hiring life guards, but the swim centers have been reducing hours for
years now. The management needs to be replaced with people who love swimming, appreciate the
public benefits and have a successful track record. I went to swim today at the swim center and the
lanes were overcrowded. The hours need to expanded immediately.
The indoor swim center is open 5.75 hours per day, M-F and closed on weekends And this is the
time of year when the 50 meter pool is operational.
What is your plan for expanding the number of hours the swim facilities are open? I would like each
of you to respond to me.
