I am writing to strongly object to the proposed Bridger Meadows Subdivision. As others (including a past
Planning Board member) have articulated, it’s dangerous and troubling to allow this development to move
forward with six exceptions to city standards—especially because of the unique and important habitat at
stake. Like all of us in this valley, I experience the “painful infill” of our community every single day. I
understand why it’s happening and why it has to happen. But it should happen in the right places, and it
should be held to established city standards. What could be the possible value of this development to
warrant relaxation of standards? Do we really need 16 more expensive homes at the expense of river
setbacks and public access? I do not live in the Bridger Creek neighborhood. But I walk there frequently all
year round, I watch birds there, and I have picked chokecherries there. It’s a very special scrap of nature
that we should do everything in our power to hold onto for the health, well-being, and balance of the entire
community. Once it’s gone it’s gone – like all the other places that are gone that used to hold nesting
cranes and songbirds, stands of cottonwoods, and open fields. I urge you to reject this development. Thank
you.
