Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. 25 June 2021 City of Bozeman Department of Community Development Attn: Tom Rogers Application #20365 Dear Sir, My wife and I have recently been advised that there is consideration to annex the 40 acresdirectly West of our home at 5590 Staffanson Road here in Bozeman in order to constructsome 150 homes on the property. I am sure that you are aware there are no streets or roads thatwould provide entry or access to this property from a major highway. It is our understanding that the developer wants to use existing and future roads through ourarea and Loyal Gardens subdivision to serve this property which would in our opinion beabsurd. The Staffanson road area is a quiet, peaceful place with larger parcels of land on whichwe all live here. Everyone knows everyone that lives here and the neighborhood children ridetheir bikes in the road safely as well as run back and forth to visit their friends. The proposed subdivision is in our opinion is way too dense for one thing and does not blendin with the larger parcels that homes in the neighborhood sit on. Eventually 150 or so homeswould be built bringing with it over 300 vehicles along with the boats, RV’s, motorcycles etc.. Traffic on our small little road would be overwhelming not to mention that access toCottonwood Road would be extremely difficult with the increase of traffic. We also understand that there will be several 5 story buildings accommodating some 400-500dwellings directly behind the Town Pump on Huffine/Cottonwood Road N/W corner whichwill probably create virtual gridlock on the already very busy Cottonwood Road. Surely the developer will push the city to annex this parcel of land, we just ask that it is donein a reasonable and sensible way taking in the concerns of the people who already live in thearea. We do not need or want the traffic of 150 homes down Staffanson road and ask that thefeasibility of routing the traffic from this 40 acres thru to Stuckey road as well to Huffine roadwhich would make much more sense.
