Dear City of Bozeman Commissioners,
I am writing to request that the City of Bozeman fund Streamline’s entire $400,000 funding
request. Streamline is a critical resource for our community members to access school, work, medical care, grocery stores and other essential services to lead healthy lives. Approximately
1/3 of community members do not drive because they are too young, too old, cannot afford amotor vehicle or choose not to. Streamline is a key service to help more people afford to live
in our community. The public has provided significant input to various community plansexpressing strong support for public transit including the Transportation Master Plan, the City
of Bozeman’s Strategic Plan, Triangle Community Plan, the Bozeman Community Plan, andmore.
The additional $100,000 in funding would help Streamline implement new bidirectional routes
this fall that will serve a larger portion of our community. It would also enable Streamline toexpand weekend service and operate later in the evenings on weekdays. The City Commission
and the public continue to voice their support for more public transportation in the Bozemancommunity. However, the City’s decision to only partially fund Streamline's request implies
that expanded public transit is not one of its priorities. Please reconsider funding Streamline'sentire $400,000 request.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Gleason
