Dear City of Bozeman Commissioners, I am writing today to request that the City of Bozeman consider funding Streamline’s entire $400,000 funding request. I believe public transit is a critical resource in our communitybecause the fare-free transit service allows us to achieve our city-wide goals of improvingequity for all community members, reducing our transportation-related carbonemissions, and increasing the overall livability of our community by reducing trafficcongestion. Public transit also plays an important role in helping our community makeprogress on its various community plans, including the City of Bozeman’s Strategic Plan, Triangle Community Plan, the Bozeman Community Plan, and more. The additional $100,000 in funding would help Streamline implement new bidirectional routesthis fall that will serve a larger portion of our community. It would also enable Streamline to expand weekend service and operate later in the evenings on weekdays. The City Commissionand the public continue to voice their support for more public transportation in the Bozeman community. However, the City’s decision to only partially fund Streamline's request impliesthat expanded public transit is not one of its priorities. There are many members of our community that rely on Streamline to get to their jobs, classes, and various appointments on adaily basis. Those community members are counting on you. Please reconsider funding Streamline's entire $400,000 request. Sincerely,Danae Giannetti 512 Sweetgrass AveBozeman, MT 59718 406-579-6278
