Dear Bozeman City Commission,
I am submitting this comment to advocate for the use of American Rescue Plan funds to improve and
expand public, subsidized housing in Bozeman. It is especially important to maintain subsidized, affordable
housing as remote workers and other out of state buyers and renters have driven up the cost of housing
without having to rely on local wages. High-quality, subsidized housing that is centrally located near
schools, public transportation, and other public services are essential for maintaining the safety and
stability of our communities.
Of course, housing-focused efforts will best improve communities in conjunction with addiction services,
mental health services, quality education, higher wages, and other efforts to reduce social isolation. Please
do not put these funds towards existing city projects and instead use this funding influx to promote
affordable and equitable living in Bozeman.
