Dear Commissioners,
My name is Bryce Neal, and I’m a resident of 1140 N Pinecrest Drive. I am submitting public comment
regarding Bozeman’s use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. ARPA money provides an excellent
opportunity for the city commission to increase funding for things like affordable housing, rental assistance,
raising wages for essential workers, schools, healthcare, and social programs. While investing in
infrastructure is important, many Bozemanites are still struggling with the economic fallout of the COVID-19
pandemic. In my view, it would make more sense to use ARPA funds to invest in the well-being of this
community, rather than infrastructure projects that will be funded in coming years. We need to not only
recover from this crisis, but also invest in social programs that will dramatically reduce the impact another
economic recession will have on our community.
