City Commission, A few comments on the current citizen advisory board consolidationconsideration (which, on the whole, I enthusiastically support): 1. Limiting board members to only one appointed position at a time seems unnecessary. 2. Term limits make sense but four years is a really short amount of time, especially for those who might eventually become the officers of the board. I suggest a term limit of two terms, excepting that members mayserve an additional term as vice chair and/or an additional term as chair. 3. Policy should be driven by the City Commission and advisory board members. Policy drives agendas. Agendas should be set by the board chairin collaboration with staff (rather than the other way around). 4. CAHAB would seem to make more sense with the Community Development rather than Sustainability (to the extent that affordability islargely driven by the creation of supply). 5. Transportation Board should extend beyond the mandate of BABAB, Parking, and PTSC to advising on the development and operation ofBozeman's transportation networks. 6. Transportation should also include transit. 7. What about the Parking Commission Administrative Review Board? 8. There should be a meaningful way for the decisions of the advisory boards to be communicated to city commission, e.g. the liaison should beresponsible when a matter is considered by City Commission to summarize the finding made by the zoning commission and planning board in their consideration of the matter, OR staff should provide a written summary of the support and dissent. Thank you for your consideration. Mark Egge542 N Black Ave Bozeman, MT 59715
