This is in regards to the modified swim center hours.
Imagine you are a 9-year-old boy who has finally got up the nerve to try out for the swim team and was
accepted!!!! Both your parents work full time, because, lets be honest to live in Bozeman most of us have
too. Your mom changed her work schedule to be able to get you to swim practice at 4:40pm and when she
went to register you, she was told to hold off because the Barracudas allotted time at the swim center is
changing to mid-morning. You cannot imagine the disappointment at not being able to start swim team
now.
How does the city expect working parents to get their children to mid-morning swim practice?? As if life
isn’t hard enough in a household where both parents work. To have to tell my son that he cannot do swim
team now, after all of this work to get him here is extremely frustrating. I feel as if working parents are
being punished and by proxy our children.
Please consider looking at all possible options for the swim center before making this change. This is not
about us the parents, this if for our children. This is for their physical, emotional and mental well-being.
