Hello all, I recently received news that service hours at Bozeman Swim Center is being further cut back, subsequently limiting swim team access. While as a member of the team with obvious vested interest, these changes cause concern on a larger scale. It seems important infrastructure likethe Swim Center is currently not a priority in the eyes of the city. I'm new to the area so perhaps lack proper insight into inner workings of this town. But along with being new ishopefully a fresh perspective. When looking for a new place to call home, Bozeman was desirable for many reasons. Not the least of which was how well infrastructure was seemingly maturing with growth. Seemed thecity planners were doing a fine job balancing the various needs of the community. Having lived in many places, a few things always stick out as measure of a town; library, schools, community centers. Facilities like a swim center is another key one as it serves the community in so many ways. This is why I was a bit surprised to discover in a highly functional town like Bozeman, animportant facility with limited hours of operation and apparent staffing shortages....this even before newly proposed changes. A swim program headed by a US Olympic Gold Medalistputs Bozeman on a whole other level. Yet the facility and supposed staffing issues is counterintuitive and a bit perplexing. Just seems like an amazing opportunity for the townthat's not being fully actualized. Perhaps all things come down to money? Is this purely a funding issue? I'd imagine in a town with a full fledged university that staffing shouldn't be too difficult. Just like to understand thechallenges and possible ways to help. Regards, Eddie Huang
