Hi there!
My name is Katee Gibson and I am a mother of 3. I am originally from the Denver metro area, but have
lived in Bozeman for 10 years now. I am reaching out today to inquire about a possible community
recreation center. Growing up in Denver, we had community recreation centers throughout each suburb.
They were the hub of activities for all ages..from swimming (indoor/outdoor pools), basketball courts,
racquetball, fitness center, organized activities, childcare, etc. The rec centers created safe, affordable
opportunities for individuals and families from all different background. With the rapid population growth,
there is a major lack of year round affordable activities for families. Is there a plan to develop recreation
centers in Bozeman? When I look at our neighbor communities, Belgrade has a wonderful splash park, and
Butte has an expansive YMCA as well as an outdoor swimming pool/splash park. Bozeman is such an
amazing place to live, but I would love to see a recreation center in the future!
