Dear Bozeman Commission, Ms. Hill and Mr. Overton,
I am contacting you because of my concern over the proposed swim center schedule change for our
swim team from the agreed time of 3:55-5:25 pm plus Saturdays, to 9:45-11:45 am Mon-Fri. This
proposed new practice time could not be any more challenging for working families, kids and
coaches, who have childcare, summer camps or jobs. Everyone has their schedules already in place
and this would cause a mad scramble to re organize.
What working family can make a morning schedule work? I would like my kids to know how to swim
and this is great program.
I also think not allowing parents to attend swim meets is absolutely ridiculous! Limit them fine, but
be reasonable! My 5-year-old daughter should not have to attend a swim meet without a parent!
Common sense should prevail here....
Why not allow the swim center to be open for the swim team with the coach's supervision? Seems
like a very logical decision.
