Memorandum
REPORT TO:Bozeman Area Bicycle Advisory Board
FROM:Jason Delmue, BABAB Chair
SUBJECT:Gallatin Commuter Project - GoGallatin Challenge
MEETING DATE:May 5, 2021
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:None.
STRATEGIC PLAN:4.5 Housing and Transportation Choices: Vigorously encourage, through a
wide variety of actions, the development of sustainable and lasting housing
options for underserved individuals and families and improve mobility
options that accommodate all travel modes.
BACKGROUND:The Gallatin Commuter Project is working to become the one-stop hub for
transportation resources for this who line and around Gallatin County.
Through the GoGallatin.org website you can explore your transportation
options with the GoGallatin trip planner. Find the best routes for walking or
biking, view Streamline routes and schedules, and find carpool partners to
save money, reduce your carbon footprint, and get moving during your
commute. The Gallatin Commuter Project is hosting the GoGallatin
Challenge May 10 - 21, 2021 as a friendly competition between
organizations in Bozeman and surrounding areas to replace drive alone trips
to and from work by biking, walking, riding the bus, telework, and
carpooling. For larger organizations like Bozeman Health, the City of
Bozeman, or MSU, different departments could be designated as “sub-
networks” of the larger workplace network. Team members log their
exercise and trips for the duration of the challenge. Team standings are
determined by the number of trips logged by ALL of the enrolled employees
at your workplace, so get as many of your coworkers as you can to sign up
and log trips! If you want to create teams within your business or
organization, we can help you do that.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None.
ALTERNATIVES:As suggested by the Board.
FISCAL EFFECTS:None.
