Bozeman City Council,
I am emailing in regards to the proposed high density Buffalo Run subdivision
bordering the low density Meadow Creek existing subdivision. It is our opinion that the
negative impact of the previously proposed subdivision plan far out weighs the
benefits. Namely, traffic, safety and the taxing on the undersized infrastructure are the
major considerations. With the previous proposal, there is only one access for fire andemergency vehicles from Kirk Drive. It is also unacceptable to expect all of the traffic
for a high density subdivision to funnel through a low density neighborhood. It
appears that the currently agreed upon proposal is in jeopardy and we could see
some reversal of some of those decisions, namely the addition of an egress, Ingressaccess from Fowler Lane as well as improvements to the water and sewer
infrastructure. Also, the proposition to build a road right through an existing park that
is generally occupied by children and pets is dangerous and unacceptable and should
not be reconsidered. Also, the impact on Meadow Creek infrastructure will likely addan unnecessary monetary burden to these residents, namely the lack of water
pressure and volume available. Each existing home in the Meadow Creek subdivision
will likely need to add a potable water booster pump in order to maintain normal water
pressure. The current pressure is 40 psi, this is much lower than is normal for aMunicipal system . This subdivision should not be approved without consideration of
these elements. It is also our opinion that more access is imperative. When Fowler
Lane is improved and the infrastructure for Buffalo Run is designed to be sourced
from Fowler Lane, and the proposed access through the existing park is eliminated, only then would this subdivision be a consideration. Thank you for your consideration
of our opinion.
