Dear City Commissioners, As a resident of Meadow Creek, I am writing in strong opposition to the proposed Buffalo Run Development. Our neighborhood has changed so much in the 4 years since we bought our house here. In addition to a large apartment complex at the intersection of Enterprise and Graf, the huge development of South Rows was built, and Southbridge continues to be built out. Now the large development of Grand Ceilo is being built on the edge of Meadow Creek and before we’ve even had a chance to see the impact of that, Buffalo Run is being proposed here too! When we first bought our house we were told that water to us was an issue, and that no more houses would be built here as we are effectively at the ‘end of the line’. Well, that has certainly not been the case! Please, please reject the proposed Buffalo Run R-4 development, and only allow single family homes to be built bordering Ainsworth Park. Bozeman is a treasure as we are a beautiful, historic town with a wonderful university in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The open spaces of fields and meadows here on the edge of Bozeman city limits are important bird and animal habitat. I have spent a large amount of time since I’ve lived in Meadow Creek picking up the trash and debris from building sites that blow into these precious meadows and fields and onto our streets. I do this for the wildlife, and am appalled at the trash that gets into the little creeks and streams out here from construction. For the most part, the builders do not clean up the construction trash that blows into these little streams and dump piles of dirt onto meadowlands. This phenomenon can be seen in Meadow Creek and along Graf on the East side of 19th and frankly all over Bozeman. If we don’t protect our lands and environment here, we will lose a precious way of life that cannot be replaced. We left Montana for work in the late 90s but kept property in Meagher County all these years. We saw firsthand the urban sprawl of the Denver suburbs and the impact building too many house has on traffic and quality of life. The proposed development of Buffalo Run must has another way out of Meadow Creek and not be funneled through our neighborhood streets. This is the main concern as our development cannot support the traffic that Buffalo Run would create, nor can our water pressure situation be compromised any further. Please carefully consider all these issues that deeply will affect our lives here. Sincerely, Tobie Laskowski 3596 Parkway Avenue Bozeman, MT 59718 Sent from my iPhone
