We are deeply frustrated and saddened by the R-4 zoning application for Buffalo Run. WE live in the Meadow Creek neighborhood and moved here looking for solitude. We loved the small neighborhood feel of Montana, and actively sought out this neighborhood for thatreason. We love our neighbors, our community and the quiet and quaint feel of the family community it provides us. We live 3 houses down from Kurk Drive. When I read the impact of traffic on Kurk road withthis new subdivision my heart dropped. It will completely change the atmosphere of our neighborhood. My 5 and 7 year old walk Kurk road every single morning and afternoon tocatch the bus. With the plans for Kurk to become a main road into Buffalo run, it puts the saftey of my kids at risk, and the quaint neighborhood something of the past. We paid a lot of money for our home. We can only imagine the negative impact this will haveon the homes in Meadow Creek- especially those most affected by the pressured traffic of Kurk Drive. I feel like this would drive us out of the Neighborhood, and we would have nowhere (equivalent) to buy with the exploding housing market. My children use Ainsworth park on an almost daily basis. By adding another street to the west would further narrow the park to 115-ft wide creating a block width well below the City’sminimum block width standard of 200-ft (BMC 38.410.040.C). This road would needlessly create two parallel streets only 115-ft apart, effectively creating a useless strip of park spacebetween two roads. The new road would also be installed directly adjacent to (if not through) an existing playground. The existing park’s character is passive and is widely utilized byresidents. THIS IS NEGATIVLY IMPACTING THE PEOPLE IN THIS NEIHBORHOOD. We were told by the city of Bozeman that they put GREAT emphasis on not devaluing currentproperty. This will do just that. It makes no sense. It We thank you for your consideration. We know money talks, but we hope that the lives andfamiles and community and neighborhood in bozeman speaks louder. Warmly, Emily Potter 208-520-8250
