My name is Terry Q uatraro chairperson for the Bozeman Beautification Advisory Board.
I am speaking to you tonight on behalf of the Beautification Advisory Board to invite all ofyou and your families to our annual Bozeman cleanup . This year the Bozeman Solid Waste
combined with the Beautification Board is promoting Bozeman 's clean up for an entire week. The kick off and prime event which also coordinates with The Gallatin Valley Earth Day
Celebration is on April 17th from 10am to 1pm on the front lawn of Bozeman 's PublicLibrary.
Community members are given a tote bag containing yellow trash bags, gloves, vests, and aninstruction sheet to encourage recycling the trash that is picked up. The public is encouraged
to register on the city website ahead of time and those individuals and groups can have theirtotes delivered to them by Solid Waste. For the week of April 17th through the 24th the city
solid waste will pick up filled yellow trash bags left on city curbsides. My thanks to the city especially the Solid Waste for making it easier for our community to
clean up city streets, alley ways, ditches and public parks and sidewalks. This event has had a long tradition starting back in May of 1947. The beautification advisory
board has been responsible for organizing this event since 1997. Please refer to the emailattachment sent with this letter. This poster from 2000 tries to replicate an ad placed in the
Bozeman Chronicle in the early 1950's.Many thanks to all involved with this year's cleanup besides the city solid waste:
the beautification advisory board members Ellie Staley, Tanya Cunningham, Aimee Johnson,
Mary Harris, Takami Clark and to our city liaisons Dani Hess and Sarah Rosenburg and mostespecially our city commission liaison I Ho Pomeroy.
Please make your presence known on April 17th from 10 to1 in front of the library and greet
your community and the wonderful people who show up and participate in this veryworthwhile event.
Thank you,Sincerely,
Terry Quatraro Bozeman Beautification Advisory Board Chair
