Chris Coburn is Bozeman’s best shot for adding much-needed perspective to the City Commission. As
someone who has experienced a much different Bozeman than many others who live here, Chris can speak
for those who did not get on the housing wheel in time, for those who are not always welcome anywhere
they go, and for those whose basic humanity is called into question by strangers - all because he is young,
Black and gay. But don’t mistake him as inexperienced. Chris has gone out of his way to take on the mantle
of leadership. That’s how I got to know him... through his work as a board member for both the Pride
Foundation and Gender Equality Montana. He serves locally on the Gallatin City-County Board of Health
and was a member of the Covid vaccine task force. Talk about someone who steps up when everything is
on the line! I also think we need his perspective on climate crisis and economic needs, including fair wages
and student loan debt. Finally, Chris has been campaigning since January to run in the fall. He’s committed,
caring and crucial for a well-rounded Commission.
