Mayor Andrus and Commissioners -
My hope had been to deliver public comment in person but my volunteer fire department
training schedule now conflicts with commission meetings.
Please consider the appointment of Christopher Coburn to the Commission to replace formerCommissioner Wallner. You have two excellent choices in both Christopher and Tom Woods
and both would do a fine job. However, I do have personal experience working withChristopher on the Gallatin City-County Board of Health and I can attest to his preparation,
creative thinking, ability to listen and pride in service. He and I also have chatted extensivelyabout the rigors of Commission appointment as I wanted to ensure he had both eyes open and
I am thoroughly convinced that he does. He has thought deeply about thispotential appointment and has sought a diverse cadre of advisors to solidify his knowledge
base, provide gap analysis and gut check his ability to serve.
Through all of this vetting, I am convinced that Christopher will bring a new lens to theCommission, somewhat in the vein of Commissioner Wallner, being a younger professional
trying to eke out a living in Bozeman with all of the challenges that it encompasses. I wouldbe proud to have Christopher represent me on the Commission.
