Please appoint Tom Woods for the Bozeman City Commission. I've worked with Tom on issues of common
concern, climate issues, and I've found him thoroughly informed and a positive force for effective policies.
Tom doesn't seem interested in appeasing the powerful and will act as a good balance for our state
government, which seems out of balance, more interested in cutting taxes for the wealthy, perverting the
election of Supreme Court justices, and promoting unpopular policies that protect powerful interests. Three
cities in Montana have voted to move to clean energy by 2030, which, on its own, is a very difficult and
ambitious goal. When NorthWestern Energy throws intimidation, misinformation, and wielding wild and
raw political power into that process, in order the protect Colstrip-4, one of the nation's worst sources of
greenhouse gases, achieving our goal becomes an even more difficult process. Tom is the person who can
see through the heavy smoke screen and help move Bozeman, Missoula, and Helena to achieve what we all
know is critical to combating the climate crisis, closing Colstrip-4 and moving our cities to clean, less
expensive electricity. I urge you to support this bright, pragmatic, and articulate man.
