HomeMy WebLinkAboutConstruction Training RFQ - Questions and Responses#Respondent Question City of Bozeman Response 1 Have you been experiencing a recent uptick in construction site erosion control / drainage issues? No. The City conducts a construction site compliance audit annually, where staff looks at 50 randomly selected construction projects. Results show industry compliance with erosion, sediment, and pollutants control regulations has been relatively consistent over the last three years, with one-third of sites achieving and maintaining compliance. Please see the City's Stormwater Management Plan Section 5.6 for more information. 2 Are there new contractors in the area that are less familiar with local standards? Yes. The City of Bozeman is rapidly growing, and there is an influx of local, regional, and national contractors to meet the demand. Many are not familiar with local or state regulations. 3 Is the City interested in developing a local certification to help expedite Construction Site Permit review? No. The City has recently optimized its permit review process and offers a consistent level-of- service for all applicants. Please see the City's Stormwater Management Plan Section 5.3 for more information. 4 We noticed this project isn’t in the City’s CIP – can you give us an approximate budget for this effort so we know how to scope our proposed approach? There is no budget for this effort. The City plans to recoup all costs through attendee entrance fees. 5 It says under Training Examples to provide class curriculum and materials. A book for one of our training classes is hundreds of pages. These wont work against the page count will they? Can we send hardcopy material in the mail to you? Class example materials do not count against the page maximum. Respondents must submit all materials digitally and may utilize the City's Cloud for transfer if the file size exceeds 25 MB. Contact the City Clerk at agenda@bozeman.net for more information regarding digital submittal. 6 Potentially ten points are awarded for the “Firm Workload”. I am assuming that this is a general statement with respect to “on call” services as I have not seen a date or timeline set for the deliverable of training. Does the City have a desired date or season in mind for when training(s) will be held based on this RFQ? The City plans to hold its 2021 training in late summer or fall. The City will maintain some flexibility with the selected consultant and coordinate training on a case-by-case basis. Respondents should address their general capacity.
