Dear Bozeman Zoning Commission and City Commissioners, I am writing to you to express my wife and I's opposition to the annexation of the Buffalo Run Subdivision to R-4 zoning. R-4 zoning does not fit with the surrounding area at all. Allowingsuch high density will essentially create an urban island in the middle of the agricultural land and next to residential property zoned as R2. We understand that housing is needed in Bozeman as it is growing quickly. We moved toBozeman just over a year ago and what drew us here was the openness and not being in a crowded city. We are afraid that adding such dense zoning will take away from the charm thatbrings many people here. Zoning this in a lesser zone that is in sync with the surrounding communities makes much or sense, at the very least transitioning the zoning so it is not suchan abrupt change. The other major concern for us with such dense zoning is the traffic that will come down 27th and then to Kurk Dr. Thought the paving of Fowler lane is a must for this project to workwhatsoever, with R-4 zoning it would have so many residents on this island that many of them would still come down Kurk. These streets are simply not made for that kind of traffic normaintained to keep it safe. As it stands the surrounding streets are already not regularly plowed throughout the winter. At one point this past winter Kurk Dr. was a complete sheet ofice. With the increased traffic that this level of zoning would create there is no doubt that there would be MANY accidents and make Kurk a very unsafe street. Due to the layout of thestreets in the Meadow Creek subdivision Kurk is a street that many, including my family, walk along. With a greater amount of traffic that street will become a hazard for anyone walkingalong it during the winter or summer months. Once again we want to express our opposition for R-4 zoning. We understand that the Zoning Commision and the City commision have a difficult task ahead with the growth of Bozemanand how to do it correctly. We appreciate the hard work and thought that you and the city staff put into these projects. We ask that you please do the right thing to help preserve thecharm and beauty that has brought us and so many more to move across the country to this wonderful place. Allowing this dense zoning and creating an urban island will create anegative precedent that could lead to poor development in the future that will ruin the beauty and openness that Bozeman offers. Thank you,Steven & Natalie Krezminski 3328 Parkway Ave.
