HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-26-21 Galavan-Streamline MinutesStreamline Advisory Board Minutes January 26, 2021 Zoom virtual meeting Attendees: David Kack, Cara Priem, Terry Aldrich, Joseph Menicucci, Bill Hoch, Linda Sherwood, Jennifer Boyer, Vanessa Palmer, Dan Martin, Sunshine Ross, Mark Egge, Craig Collinger, Tracy Menuez, Cyndy Andrus Public Comment - none Prior Meeting minutes – November 17, 2020 minutes were approved Next Meeting – March 23, 2021 Discussion - Sunshine Ross • Reviewed the coordination plan and goals for the Galavan/Streamline Advisory board for 2021-2022 – plan was approved pending revisions. • The UTD is still being considered and is dependent upon the economy and the census results • Galavan has a healthy reserve of $270 k ◦ A 3rd bus is on order and has been awarded ◦ Cameras for the buses have been ordered ◦ air purification systems have been ordered for Galavan vehicles • Streamline has a reserve of $670K ◦ air purification equipment for the Streamline buses will be ordered ◦ 3 new buses will be ordered with matching funds ◦ Matching funds for 4 buses are due to arrive Director's Report – Sunshine Ross • MDT grant approved for $1.2 M • Drivers may be eligible to be vaccinated in the Covid Phase 1B • The new contract with TMD has started, no pricing yet. They have the new scope of work. Treasurer's report - David Kack • Galavan – 100% of expenses are currently paid by federal funds – local revenue would go to reserves if not used this year – currently at 53% of expenses YTD – Streamline – local revenue will go to reserves since CARES act/Federal funding is paying the expenses – currently at 42% of expenses YTD – the combined Galavan and Streamline budget is $2.6 M. – Skyline budget is $2.2 M for comparison Secretary's report – nothing to report Subcommittee report - Sunshine Ross 1. Marketing ◦ currently not seeking additional advertisers. ◦ They are promoting Supporters on the bus ◦ Need to change the terminology from “fare free” to “0 fare” ◦ they discussed ways to promote new routes and new stop signage and schedules ◦ Sunshine is in discussion with a marketing professor at MSU and will work with some of his students for Streamline promotion ideas. 2. Budget committee needs to meet and go through MDT budget the 4th week of February. 3. Board elections will be in July and a few seats will be open. Public Stakeholders • Joseph Menicucci expressed the need for strategic thinking prior to the ballot vote for the UTD • Dan Martin ◦ expressed concerns about a Blue Line driver receiving racial slurs ◦ there is a need for a new Class C driver on the Yellow PM and commuter lines ◦ The Green line now has a new stop at Jack Rabbit and Valley Center For the Good of the Bus • Sunshine announced that Streamline received the Bozeman Choice award for their new route redesigns. Bozeman citizens approved it for the best use of tax payer dollars.
