Hello commissioners. I am a resident of Meadow Creek and strongly opposed to the development proposed by
Derek Williams.
These are my reasons:
1) high density in that location is not supported by current or foreseeable infrastructure on Fowler and perhaps more
importantly, Stucky.
2) due to this lack of infrastructure there stands to be a VERY significant negative impact environmentally. It is
unsafe to walk or bike into town from that location and there is no access to public transit, therefore each household
which is typically comprised of two vehicle owners will likely end up driving both of those vehicles- a huge carbon
emission issue and NOT what I hope Bozeman is striving for in 2021.
3) due to the lack of Fowler and Stucky infrastructure it is highly likely all or most of those vehicles will choose his
proposed ingress/egress via Kurk (versus Fowler and Stucky) and through our currently safe neighborhood. We live
on Kurk and 29th.
4) this very notion and action of directing nearly all traffic from a proposed R 4 development for Buffalo Run is
wreckless, and inconsiderate of our safety and well-being here in Meadow Creek.
5) High density belongs closer to major arterial avenues that ALREADY exist.
We left the university district due to safety concerns for our children and for the stress that those safety concerns
were causing our family. We specifically chose Meadow Creek because we believed this location was more
safe...and it has been! This development will completely undermine why we moved here and invested in the safe
and quiet neighborhood that MC has always been.
PLEASE DO NOT support this development in this location. High density is a good idea in theory but it is in a
VERY IMPROPER location and the developer is trying to make up for that by using our neighborhood for access.
This is not smart growth!
Our concerns for our sanity and mental health due to noise increases and our children’s physical safety will cause us
to seek housing somewhere else and it seems unlikely we would even find anything anywhere else because of the
competitive market right now. We feel distraught and at the mercy of upper level decisions. Please help us and
please take a stand against this development.
